Flowpac is an Intermittent Pneumatic device for the treatment and management of a variety of conditions. The application of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression has its effect through increasing blood flow and encouraging extracellular fluid clearance. Flowpac consists of a pump and either one or two leg or arm garments. The pump provides intermittent cycles of compression at variable pressures which inflate the garments. The compression applied promotes venous and lymphatic flow encouraging fluid transfer from the interstitial spaces into the vascular system. Compression theraphy can be used for the treatment and management of the following conditions: 1. Lymphoedema of the limbs 2.Venous leg ulcers 3. Oedema following trauma 4.Reduction of fixed flexion deformities 5.Arthritic conditions 6.Part of general rehabilitation programme Contra-indicaions: 1.Severe ischaemic vascular disease 2.Oedema due to congestive cardiac failure 3.Known or suspected deep vein thrombosis 4.Any local conditions in which the garment might interfere, for example: gangrene/recent skin graft/dermatitis/untreated, infected wounds Garment: Single chamber/three chambers/arm chamber/leg chamber(full or half),all easy to connect to existing FLOWTRON Plus and FLOWPAC pumps. |
